An Androsphinx(Androsphinx volucer.) is the only species of Sphinx which can talk and enjoy riddles. Dr. Drake included a riddle book in Monsterology for this purpose.

They are 6 feet long and 3 to 5 feet high. They love human meat but will forgo it their riddle is answered. Sphinx will typically dwell in the shade of a rock or in ancient ruins. The Sphinx could have parallel-evolved from lions as modern humans appeared. The Androsphinx is very rare and some claim that they commit suicide if their riddles are solved, although this seems unlikely.
