The Yetis(Ursus saxum.) are solitary and adapted to the cold. They avoid humans if possible.
Description.[]
They are 8 to 10 feet high. The fur colour changes from brown in summer to white in winter. The females can be recognised as they twist their whiskers into curls. Yetis are omnivourous and often hungry due to the scarcity of life at these altitudes. Although they are infamously difficult to track, Dr. Drake encountered one and estimated its age at 180 years. Sadly the encounter was cut short when the creature smelt dragon on the doctor's hat. It is unknown whether they evolved from bears or apes. They have a number of subspecies known as the Bigfoot, Yeren, Yowie and Almas, among others.
Trivia.[]
- The Siachen Glacier in the Himalayas is one of the longest in the world and home to a number of yetis. They seemingly don't mind having their caves moved thirty feet each year by glacial action.
- A sample of yeti fur was included in Monsterology.
- Baby yetis enjoy ice cream, which keeps them cool and stops them from screeching.
- When tracking, look for buried dung, footprints with a prominent big toe, snow caves with traces of brown or white hair and sticks set up a crossroads with strange hides tied to them. These warn others yetis to keep away.
- They suffer from a parasite known as Ice Fleas which thrive when the yeti is overheated. Cool them down by making them lie in snow.
- The Tibetan Dragon often feeds on yetis.
